His many books on the subject of DV are cited by other experts in the field as the " bible" for understanding the dynamics of DV. Janice levinson is a protective mother, former teacher and curently a nurse, who was in litagation for a decade. Her children have since aged out of the system

    Please join Protective Mothers' Alliance Intl's Executive Director Janice Levinson along with co host attorney Tom Burton for another riveting and informative PMA BTR show. Janice and Tom will be interviewing the sister of a women currently in a Malaysian prison facing the death penalty for her husband's possession of a variety of drugs. Shivaun Orton is the loving mother of two boys, who was horribly abused by her husband. She was isolated to the point of captivity in her bedroom, where she was regularly beaten. Shivaun"s husband only let her out to cook , clean and tend to the children. He sent her to be raped by local police to erase a speeding ticket off his driving record. Through all this torture and abuse Shivaun has stayed steadfast in not allowing her children to think about their father in a negative way, and keeping most of the abuse inflicted on her from them. Please join us to hear this story of tragedy and bravery from Shivaun's sister Stephanie, as the family fights to save Shivaun. Joining us in the second half of the show will be PMA INL's New Zealand leader Joanne Shaw who will discuss rescent family court issues in her country.

    PMA Intl. BTR show interviews Margaret Candler about imprisoned protective mom Elsa Newman

    Please join PMA Intl's executive director Janice Levinson with co host attn Tom Burton, as they interview Margaret Candler about her friend Elsa Newman's imprisonment. Margaret Candler was a CPS worker for nine years. The last four years of her career were spent investigating reports of child sexual abuse with the local county police department. In 1995 Margaret quit because she could no longer bear the responsibilities of the difficult decisions that she had to make. Margaret met Elsa Newman in the spring of 2001 at an Earth Charter meeting.As she sat next to Elsa, Margaret mentioned her work with CPS. In return, Elsa shared the abuse that her children were enduring at the hands of their father. Margaret then made a report to the county of Montgomery. What happened next is a chain of event that cumulated in Elsa's imprisonment of 8+ years. Please join this lively discussion about the problems in family court that conclude with protective moms not only losing custody of their children , but also spending time in jail or prison wishing and praying that justice will finally be served.

    Protective Mothers Alliance International BTR show with special guest co host Ben Atherton-Zeman

    Please join Protective Mother's Alliance International's Executive Director Janice Levinson along with special guest host Ben Atherton-Zeman as they interview a protective mother and her daughter about their experiences with family court abuse. We are proud to include, famed attorney Barry Goldstein, who will join Janice and Ben for the second half of the show. Attorney Goldstein will discuss the problems within family court, his new groundbreaking book, and answer some questions from callers. Casey Keene, MSW, LSW Casey Keene has been at the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence since 2001, where she currently serves as the Project Coordinator for the National Online Resource Center on Violence Against Women. As a young woman, Casey formed a strong partnership with her mother in the on-going struggle for safety and freedom from her mother's batterer. She is determined to share her story to influence the ways in which advocacy is done on behalf of children exposed to domestic violence. Kathlene Russell, MS A survivor of domestic violence, Ms. Russell has been working in the battered women's movement for more than 15 years. She is currently the Executive Director of The Women's Center of Columbia/Montour in Bloomsburg, PA. Ms. Russell holds a Master's Degree in Guidance and Psychological Services. Barry Goldstein is a nationally recognized domestic violence speaker, author and advocate. He is the co-editor with Mo Therese Hannah of the new book DOMESTIC VIOLENE, ABUSE and CHILD CUSTODY and author of SCARED TO LEAVE AFRAID TO STAY. Barry frequently works with protective mothers to help them apply the up-to-date research now available to their cases and also has been an instructor and supervisor in a NY Model Batterer Program for eleven years.

She became recognized for her specialized expertise in the area of child abuse, domestic violence, among others. She has served as a hostage negotiator on the special tactics response team.
