On the 10th of the 10th 2010 millions of people around the world will mark World Homeless Day in many varied ways and change the lives of homeless people in their local community.
Overview
The purpose of World Homeless Day is to draw attention to homeless people’s needs locally and provide opportunities for the community to get involved in responding to homelessness, while taking advantage of the stage an ‘international day’ provides.
The Official World Homeless Day website exists to resource local groups to take the concept of World Homeless Day and run with it to benefit homeless people locally in their area.
Note: This is an annual event on the 10th of the 10th every year.

The most obvious opportunity World Homeless Day presents is to get in touch with local:
schools
churches
service clubs
news outlets
businesses
And ask the simple question: what are you doing for World Homeless Day? Then present them with opportunities to partner with your organization on fundraising or awareness raising projects.
Money
Only give to registered charities locally in your area.
Sharing Ideas / Profiling Events
Since there are so many people and organizations involved around the world (in over 50 countries so far) - it's inevitable that good ideas will be generated locally.
We want to source those great ideas and share them with others in different countries so collectively we can help homeless people more effectively and utilize World Homeless Day to the greatest advantage for everyone.
During the Inaugural Year 2010 of World Homeless Day, advice and insight is needed especially from those who have experience running homeless weeks or homeless days locally in their country or region.
